Belgian investment house Degroof Petercam on Wednesday named Gautier Bataille as its new CEO for Luxembourg. Filip Depaz has been appointed as chief operating officer for the group.

Bataille will succeed Bruno Houdmont from 1 August. He has held several leadership roles at the firm and currently is executive member of the management board and group head of business development.

”Bruno’s efforts and determination have been of great importance for the management of our activities in Luxembourg,” said Hugo Lasat, group CEO at Degroof Petercam, in a statement. “I look forward to continue the fruitful cooperation with Gautier in his new role. Luxembourg is of strategic importance for Degroof Petercam and is a vector for growth.”

As new group COO, Depaz will become a member of the firm’s executive committee and report to CEO Lasat. His appointment is subject to regulatory approval.  The firm said he will become responsible for “transversal activities” that include business and marketing operations, data management, the transformation office, internal controls and corporate banking services.

DeGroof Petercam has maintained a strategic presence in Luxembourg since 1987 and currently employs some 400 people. Its positioning in the Grand Duchy also serves as European hub for its international clients.
