Francois Mousel has been elected as managing partner at PwC Luxembourg to succeed John Parkhouse from next July, the firm announced on Monday.

Parkhouse’s second four-year mandate will come to an end next year. During his tenure, the firm’s turnover rose to 543 million euro in the fiscal year ended 30 June 2022, from 315 million euro in 2014. During that period, PwC Luxembourg added approximately 600 staff, employing 3100 people at the end of last June. PwC is the largest among the big four auditors and consultants in Luxembourg.

“On behalf of my partners and the entire firm, I would like to congratulate François Mousel on his election as our new Managing Partner, officially starting on July 1, 2023,” Parkhouse said in a statement. “François has demonstrated his tremendous leadership skills and passion for our firm over many years, and for this he has earned the trust and confidence of our partnership.”

Former CSSF advisor

Mousel first joined PwC in 2005 and then left in 2010 to work for three years as an advisor at Luxembourg’s financial supervisor CSSF, according to his LinkedIn profile. In 2013, he rejoined PwC as a partner and director. In a statement he said he was “overwhelmed by the trust expressed” by the firm’s partners.

“As a person, I stand fully behind our values and our relentless commitment to build long standing relationships of trust with our clients and all our important stakeholders,” Mousel said. “PwC stands for quality and outcomes that are built for the long term. PwC stands for being a role model citizen in our country. I will devote all my energy to serve and help all our partners to be more successful in what they do and lead our firm into the next era of its development.”

The firm said it will now enter a period of transition which will conclude by 30 June.
