KBL epb changes its name into Quintet Pan-European private banking group. The Luxembourg-based bank does this in order to better reflect its partnership approach in wealth management.

KBL European Private Bankers, established in 1949 in Luxembourg and currently with subsidiaries in more than 50 European cities, is from now on called ‘Quintet’, as mentioned in a press release issued by the bank.

The bank is introducing a new name and brand at a time when it is making substantial investments in terms of expanding its range of services and increasing its international influence.

The pan-European private banking group is now called ‘Quintet Private Bank’. KBL Luxembourg, the private bank in the Grand-Duchy is now called ‘Quintet Luxembourg’ and KBL España is now ‘Quintet España’.

Its subsidiaries keep on operating under their current brand names. These are: Puilaetco Dewaay in Belgium and Luxembourg, InsingerGilissen in the Netherlands, Brown Shipley in Great Britain and Merck Finck in Germany. The mention ‘a Quintet private bank’ will be added to the name. In Luxembourg and Spain, the bank will be operating under its own, new name.

‘Our new name reflects who we are as a company and how we add value’, says Jakob Stott, CEO wealth management. ‘Just like an orchestra, we bring together different points of view and perspectives in order to be able to meet the requirements of our customers and to gain their trust by always doing what is best for them.’

Everywhere where Quintet is operational, all brands will have a common brand, characterised by five interconnected rings.

Inspired by the universal power of music and to accentuate the group’s partnership approach, the name Quintet stands for the five senses and the four fingers and one thumb on each hand, combining the female number two and the male number three and therefore symbolising all people.

Quintet Private Bank (Europe) S.A. was established in 1949, has its headquarters in Luxembourg, employs 2,000 people and operates in more than 50 European cities. Quintet is a private bank which provides services to wealthy families and a wide range of institutional and professional clients, including family offices, foundations and external wealth managers.

In May last year, the Swiss top banker Jürg Zeltner was appointed CEO of the Group, succeeding Peter Vandekerckhove in the job.
