This week’s overview of transfers, appointments, promotions and other people news includes updates from Aviva Investors, EY, DWS and Alfi.

Marc Giorgetti 

Marc Giorgetti (photo) has won the EY Entrepreneur of the Year competition and will represent Luxembourg at the grand international final of this EY competition in Monaco in June next year. Giorgetti received the award at an event in the Cercle Cité, attended by interior minister Léon Gloden.

Marc Giorgetti worked in the family business from a young age, gaining knowledge on building sites and operating construction machinery. Upon finishing his studies, he returned to Luxembourg to manage the company, which was struggling with a debt of £20 million and low funds. Thirty-seven years later, the Felix Giorgetti Group is a leading company in building and property development in Luxembourg. The company has also expanded into the hotels and restaurant sector and currently employs more than 1,300 individuals.

Oskar Geldof 

Oskar Geldof has been appointed as head of Benelux at Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of London-based Aviva plc, Geldof is based in Amsterdam and reports to Torben Dunkel, Head of Europe. In his new role, Oskar will be responsible for institutional business development activity across the BeNeLux countries. 

Geldof has over 20 years’ experience in the industry. He joins after a decade at Fidelity International where he was most recently Head of Institutional Sales (Public and Private Markets) for the Netherlands. Prior to this, he held senior sales roles in asset management, and investment banking in London, New York and BeNeLux.   

He will succeeds Catrinus Van Willigen, who has retired after almost 13 years with Aviva Investors.

Serge Weyland and Emmuanuel Gutton

Serge Weyland, CEO at Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management in Luxembourg, is set to replace Camille Thommes as the director general of the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (Alfi), effective 1 January 2024.

Alfi’s legal and tax director Emmanuel Gutton has been appointed as deputy director general, effective immediately.

Joachim Creus

Joachim Creus, managing partner at Amsterdam-based investment bank JAB, has been appointed CEO of JAB. Additionally, Creus will continue to serve as Vice Chairman of the JAB Board and is the designated successor to Chairman Peter Harf

JAB also announced that Frank Engelen has been promoted to Managing Partner, effective immediately. JAB manages 50 billion euro invested in consumer goods and services.

Olivier Goudet, who has been Managing Partner and CEO of JAB since 2012, will become a Senior Investment Advisor with the majority of his personal wealth remaining invested in the firm and its assets for the long term. Goudet will stay closely involved with JAB’s ecosystem, continuing to serve in his capacity as a Board Director across certain JAB portfolio companies.

Ann Van der Linden

Ann Van der Linden has been appointed as People Leader Belgium and Luxembourg at insurance group Marsh Mclennan. She previously was HR manager at Capgemini in Belgium.

Dan Robinson 

Dan Robinson has been appointed as Emea head of alternative credit at DWS in line with its strategy to expand its 114 billion euro alternatives business. The division of DWS has a 50-year track record, with strengths in real estate, infrastructure and liquid real assets.
