This week’s overview of transfers, appointments, promotions and other people news includes updates from Credit Suisse, Carmignac, Zumo and European consumer interests group Beuc.
Kristofer Barrett
Kristofer Barrett (photo) has been appointed to the London-based investment team of Carmignac as global equities manager. He will join the business on 8 April 2024.
Barrett will take over management of the Carmignac Investissement strategy and the equity portfolio of the Carmignac Patrimoine strategy. He will also join the firm’s strategic investment committee.
Barrett joins Carmignac from Swedbank Robur, where he worked since 2006 running several developed and emerging market equity funds. In April 2016, he took over management of a now Morningstar five-star rated 10 billion euro global equities strategy and in March 2020, he was appointed manager of a now Morningstar five-star rated 12.8 billion euro technology equity strategy.

His appointment coincides with the decision by David Older to retire. Older will leave the business on 4 April 2024. Mark Denham, an accomplished equities investor who has managed European and global equity funds at Carmignac since 2016, will become head of equities.
Xavier Leydier
Xavier Leydier has been appointed Chief Compliance Officer at Credit Suisse Luxembourg & Branches, he announced on LinkedIn.
Leydier joined Credit Suisse in November 2021 as head of financial crime compliance, MLRO. Before that, he served in similar roles at Lombard Odier and KBL European Private Bankers, which now is part of Quintet Private Bank.
Agustín Reyna
Agustín Reyna has been appointed as the next director general at European consumer interests group Beuc in Brussels. He will take over in June from Monique Goyens, who is retiring this year after having led the consumer group network for almost 17 years. Beuc actively is involved in discussions on EU financial services policies.
Reyna, who hails from Argentina and is also a Belgian citizen, started his career at Beuc in 2010. He is currently Beuc’s Director of Legal and Economic Affairs, a member of the management team, and leading the organisation’s competition and financial services priorities.
Ashwath Mehra
Ashwath Mehra has been appointed as non-executive director at Edinburgh-based Zumo amid growth of the digital asset sector. His appointment is designed to support the company through regulatory changes following the the Securities and Exchange Commission’s approval of Bitcoin spot ETFs.
Zumo helped Jacobi Asset Management to deliver Europe’s first decarbonised Bitcoin spot ETF and was the first digital asset platform to integrate the tech-based requirements of the Financial Conduct Authority’s financial promotions regime for cryptoassets.
