This week’s overview of transfers, appointments, promotions and other career news includes updates from Luxembourg supervisor CSSF, Apex Group and Capital Group.
Maureen Wiwinius
Maureen Wiwinius (photo) has been reappointed as a member and chairperson of the board of the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF). By grand ducal decree on June 17, 2024, Wiwinius, who serves as a counsellor at the Ministry of Finance, will continue in her role for a renewable five-year term starting from July 1, 2024.
Wiwinius joined the Ministry of Finance in 2016 after nearly 11 years at the CSSF, where she held various management positions in the field of capital markets. Her extensive experience and expertise in financial regulation have been invaluable to the Ministry and the CSSF.
Maureen Wiwinius holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Finance from the ICHEC Brussels Management School. She is fluent in Luxembourgish, French, German, and English.
Nicholas Morse
Nicholas Morse has been appointed chief business development officer, Americas, at Apex Group Ltd., a global financial service provider, effective 18 July..
Morse’s extensive experience and track record in the financial services industry will support the company’s business development efforts across the Americas.
Morse brings over 25 years of experience as a financial services executive, with previous roles as managing director at SS&C Technologies, Addepar, and BlackRock. He was part of the team that launched BlackRock’s Aladdin business and held several leadership positions there. In his new role, Morse will focus on expanding Apex Group’s presence in the Americas through new partnerships, brand development, and product strategy.
Álvaro Peró Gala
Álvaro Peró Gala has been appointed fixed income investment director at Capital Group, one of the largest investment companies with over 2,600 billion dollars in assets under management. Reporting to Scott Steele, fixed income asset class lead for Europe and Asia, Peró Gala will join the investment specialist team in London, delivering fixed income investment insights to retail and institutional clients across Europe.
Peró Gala joins from Pimco, where he served as vice president and contributed to expanding the firm’s retail and institutional channels within Iberia. He also worked with the global wealth management team in London, focusing on global financial intermediaries and family offices.
Prior to Pimco, Peró Gala gained experience in consulting across various industries, including banking and energy. He holds an MBA from Insead.
