This week’s overview of transfers, appointments, promotions and other people news includes updates from Euroclear, Arrow Global, Partners Group and KPMG Luxembourg.
Valérie Urbain
Valérie Urbain (photo) has been selected by the board of Euroclear as the successor to Lieve Mostrey as its Group Chief Executive Officer. Mostrey and Urbain will ensure a smooth and orderly transition period until the renewal of the Euroclear Board member mandates at its general meeting on 3 May 2024.
Urbain joined Euroclear in 1992 and is Executive Director and member of the Euroclear Group Management Committee. As Chief Business Officer, a role she has held since 2021, she currently has overall responsibility for the commercial and product development of the Group. Valérie has played a key role in shaping the Group’s business strategy and driving its implementation. Under her leadership, a high focus on client centricity has resulted in record levels of client satisfaction and sustained business income growth in 2023.
Mostrey has been leading Euroclear as Group CEO since January 2017 and, in July 2023, it was announced that she would retire as CEO of
Euroclear. She joined Euroclear in October 2010 as Executive Director and Chief Technology and Services Officer. Prior to Euroclear, she was a
member of the Executive Committee of BNP Paribas Fortis. On 10 January 2024, she was recognised for her achievements in leading Euroclear
when she was named as the winner of the prestigious Trends Manager of the Year 2023 in Belgium.
Rob Leary
Rob Leary has been appointed as Chair of the Board of Directors at Arrow Global Group, an alternative asset manager specialising in private credit and real estate. He brings a distinguished investment and leadership career spanning over 30 years in asset management and insurance, marked by his extensive expertise in mergers and acquisitions and product diversification.
Leary’s tenure includes his role as CEO at ING Investment Management, followed by his position as CEO at Nuveen, a TIAA company, where he managed approximately 850 billion euro in assets under management. His leadership was instrumental in driving significant transformations at The Olayan Group as Group CEO, enhancing their global operations and governance model.
His appointment comes at a time when Arrow is focusing on strategic growth and expansion. His experience in managing organisations through periods of significant expansion will be invaluable to Arrow, as it continues to expand its market presence and evolve as a leading multi-strategy European alternative asset manager.

David Capocci
David Capocci has been reconfirmed as KPMG’s Managing Partner for another four years, as of 1 October 2024. Elected for the first time on 16 March 2020, he will continue supporting the firm’s transformation journey and vision to be the clear choice for clients, partners and people, KPMG said.
Juri Jenkner
Juri Jenkner has taken on the newly created role of President of Partners Group from 1 January 2024. He will report to CEO David Layton. Swiss-based Partners, a private markets firm that derives one third of its sales from Luxembourg, has recently announced several rotations in its executive team.
Esther Peiner will become Partner, Head of Private Infrastructure, and join the Executive Team per 1 January. Kirsta Anderson, Partner and Chief People Officer, will transition into an Advisory Partner function and rotate out of the Executive Team as of 31 January 2024. Joris Gröflin joined Partners Group as Partner, Chief Financial Officer, and member of the Executive Team.
