
This week’s overview of people transfers and appointments in and around Luxembourg includes updates from Atenor, M&G, Lombard Odier, Mandatum, Ares Management, and AXA Investment Managers.
Atenor appoints Denys as BeLux country director
Atenor has named Suzy Denys as country director for Belgium and Luxembourg, starting June 2. She will oversee the firm’s development strategy in both markets.
Denys began her career as a lawyer and later held senior roles in real estate at Redevco and Patrizia, where she was most recently country manager. She also holds board positions at Home Invest Belgium, UPSI-BVS, Wereldhave, and CBFI, and is a member of Women on Board Belgium.
Charlie Anniss joins M&G Investments
M&G Investments has appointed Charlie Anniss as portfolio manager of the M&G (Lux) Nature and Biodiversity Solutions Fund, effective April 16. He reports to John William Olsen, Head of M&G’s Sustain & Impact Equity team, which manages around 5 billion euros in assets.
Anniss rejoins M&G from Union Bancaire Privée (UBP), where he was Co-Head of Impact Investing. There, he led a team managing developed market impact strategies, launched a biodiversity strategy, and co-managed a global positive impact fund. He will work closely with M&G’s Sustainable & Impact Investing team, including Ben Constable-Maxwell, Head of Impact Strategy. His appointment follows a broadening of the fund’s impact mandate.
Girault to lead international development at LFDE
La Financière de l’Échiquier (LFDE) has appointed Anne-Sophie Girault as head of international development, effective April 7, 2025. She also joins the firm’s executive committee. With more than 25 years of experience in asset management, Girault is tasked with leading LFDE’s expansion into new markets beyond its core European base.
The role supports LFDE’s broader strategy following its integration with LBP AM and Tocqueville Finance, moves that have expanded the firm’s distribution and product capabilities. LFDE currently manages over 26 billion euros in assets and is aiming to strengthen its presence across Europe and enter select international markets.
Sarvikivi to lead Institutional Wealth Management at Mandatum
Mandatum has appointed Janne Sarvikivi as Head of Institutional and Wealth Management, and Managing Director of Mandatum Asset Management, effective May 12. He will report to Group CEO Petri Niemisvirta and join the group’s management team.
Sarvikivi joins from Nordea, where he led the equities team in Finland since 2011. At Mandatum, he will oversee services for institutional clients, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals, with a focus on credit, alternatives, and equities.
Sehayek co-head alternative credit at Ares
Ares Management has appointed Richard Sehayek as co-head of Europe for alternative credit, working alongside existing co-head Stefano Questa. The appointment strengthens the firm’s leadership in asset-based finance across the region.
Sehayek joined Ares in 2023 as part of its alternative credit team. Before that, he spent more than a decade at Credit Suisse, where he was managing director and global head of origination for fund financing, overseeing lending secured by private fund assets. Earlier in his career, Sehayek held a senior role at KBC Financial Products, where he led origination and structuring for fund derivatives in Europe.
Lombard Odier appoints Philippe Descheemaeker
Lombard Odier Investment Managers has appointed Philippe Descheemaeker as head of private assets distribution. He will be based in Geneva and report to Bettina Ducat, co-head of LOIM.
Descheemaeker joins from Sky Harbor Capital Management, where he was head of distribution for 12 years. He previously spent 12 years at AXA Investment Managers in Paris in roles spanning fixed income and product management.
AXA IM appoints Happell to global equity team
AXA Investment Managers has appointed Gordon Happell as portfolio manager in its global equity team, based in London. He reports to Dominic Byrne, Head of Global Equities, and co-manages the AXA Framlington American Growth and AXA WF US Growth funds alongside David Shaw.
Happell joins from Columbia Threadneedle Investments, where he co-managed the US sleeve of The Global Smaller Companies Trust. He previously held roles at Henderson Global Investors and Aegon Asset Management.
