Law firm DLA Piper has appointed Cathrine Foldberg Møller as partner in its finance practice in Luxembourg. She advises financial institutions on regulatory matters across banking, payments, investment services and financial promotions. She joins from Simmons & Simmons.

Foldberg Møller has a pan-European financial services regulatory practice, advising banks, insurers, fintech firms and crypto-asset service providers. Her work covers regulatory frameworks, licensing and perimeter issues, as well as mergers and acquisitions in the financial services sector.

Foldberg Møller also is vice chair of the Luxembourg Capital Markets Association.

HSFK names finance partner in Luxembourg

Law firm Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer has appointed Laurent Massinon as partner in its finance practice in Luxembourg. He joins from DLA Piper, where he had been a partner since 2017, and brings more than 20 years of experience advising on cross-border banking and capital markets transactions.

Massinon advises on areas including acquisition finance, leveraged finance, structured finance and securitisation, as well as regulatory matters in banking, capital markets and insurance. His arrival comes a year after the firm opened its Luxembourg office as part of a broader effort to expand its finance and private capital capabilities across Emea.

RBC Bluebay appoints head of market strategy

RBC BlueBay Asset Management has appointed Mike Bell as head of market strategy, a newly created role based in London. He will provide clients and prospects with analysis of the global economy and financial markets as part of the firm’s investment insights offering. Bell joins from J.P. Morgan Asset Management, where he served as global market strategist and led an international team of investment specialists. Earlier in his career, he worked in the economics and asset allocation team at C. Hoare & Co Private Bank.

JP Morgan AM appoints global market strategist

J.P. Morgan Asset Management has appointed Jorn Veeneman as global market strategist for the Netherlands and Belgium. He joins from Van Lanschot Kempen, where he spent 6 years as investment strategist advising private banking and institutional clients. Earlier in his career, Veeneman worked for nearly 3 years as a consultant at Sprenkels and for almost 2 years as a risk management adviser at EY. He studied quantitative finance and actuarial sciences at Tilburg University.

Anthos hires Douglas Barker

Douglas Barker has joined Anthos Fund & Asset Management, he announced on Linkedin. He previously spent 6 years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management as executive director and senior manager for business development. Earlier, Barker served as director of institutional sales at InsingerGilissen and was responsible for distribution in the Netherlands at Janus Henderson. His career also includes nearly 10 years at ABN Amro and 5 years at Rabobank in wealth management roles.

Blackrock names head of wealth 

Blackrock has appointed Annemarie Stephenson as head of wealth for the Netherlands. The newly created role covers the full wealth market, including banks, family offices, digital platforms and independent advisers. Stephenson has worked at Blackrock since 2008 in a range of roles, including data management and cash management. Since 2020 she has been based in London, first as director of ETF sales and later as co-head of iShares UK asset manager sales.
