EY Luxembourg has appointed Jelena Tomić as partner in its assurance practice and Daniela Hockelmann as partner in its tax practice. Both appointments take effect at the end of April.

Tomić joins the financial accounting advisory services team, bringing more than 15 years of experience across banking, audit and strategic finance. She most recently served as director of group business intelligence in the banking sector. Hockelmann joins the international tax and transaction services practice with over 17 years of experience advising multinational groups and previously served as a judge at the district court of Trier in Germany.

Net-zero Alliance appoints new co-chairs

The Net-zero Asset Owner Alliance has appointed Josselin Kalifa and Toru Shindo as co-chairs of its steering group. Kalifa is chief investment officer at Caisse des Dépôts, while Shindo serves as chief investment officer of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund.

The alliance represents 86 asset owners with 9.2 trillion dollars in assets under management. It said the leadership change supports its work on aligning portfolios with net-zero emissions by 2050 and advancing climate-related investment standards across the financial sector.

New chair for UK pensions regulator

The UK Department for Work and Pensions has appointed Emma Douglas as chair of The pensions regulator, effective July 1, 2026. She will begin a five-year term, succeeding interim chair Kirstin Baker.

Douglas brings more than 25 years of experience in investment management and pensions. She previously served as wealth policy director at Aviva and as chair of Pensions UK. The appointment comes amid significant reforms to the UK pension system, with the regulator playing a central role in overseeing implementation.

Julius Baer appoints COO

Julius Baer has appointed Jean Nabaa as chief operating officer. He joins from HSBC, where he most recently served as chief operating officer for international wealth and premier banking and for global private banking.

Nabaa brings more than 20 years of experience in financial services, including previous chief operating officer roles at Standard Chartered and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He succeeds Nic Dreckmann, who stepped down as chief operating officer and deputy chief executive officer on April 13, 2026 and will leave the bank later in the summer.
