GSK Stockmann

Hawa Mahamoud, Chara Papagiannidi (photo), and Marie-Therese Wich have been promoted to counsel at GSK Stockmann’s Luxembourg office, effective 1 January 2025. These appointments strengthen the law firm’s banking and corporate divisions in Luxembourg, reinforcing its cross-border collaboration with its German offices.

In addition to the Luxembourg promotions, Kattharina Feierabend, Stephan Wachsmuth, and Dr. Joerg Wuenschel have been named local partners, while Theresa Jakob, Philipp Junker, and Dominika Sewerin have been appointed counsel across the firm’s Munich, Heidelberg, and Frankfurt offices.

These promotions reflect GSK Stockmann’s ongoing commitment to developing internal talent and enhancing its presence in key practice areas, including real estate, corporate, and public sector law. The firm said it continues to build a strong partnership between its German and Luxembourg locations to better serve its clients.

Camille Guinoiseau Pierre

Camille Guinoiseau Pierre has been appointed chief risk officer and conducting officer at Santander Asset Management Luxembourg.

Guinoiseau Pierre previously held various roles in risk management and asset management, including at Waystone in Luxembourg and as economist and consultant at FactSet and Primeview in Paris. He will be responsible for overseeing risk management functions and ensuring compliance with Luxembourg’s regulatory framework.

His appointment highlights Santander Asset Management’s focus on strengthening its risk oversight capabilities in the Grand Duchy.

Christian Kromann, Jens Schulte, and Stephan Leithner

Deutsche Börse AG’s supervisory board has appointed Christian Kromann and Jens Schulte to the executive board from 1 January. Stephan Leithner, Co-CEO, is set to become the sole CEO of Deutsche Börse AG in 2025 and currently oversees the Investment Management Solutions division.

Christian Kromann will become executive board member for investment management solutions, which covers SimCorp, ISS STOXX, ESG data, and research. He is currently CEO of SimCorp and has been with the company since 2019. Kromann has over 30 years of experience in the financial sector, focusing on software and data.

Jens Schulte will take over as chief financial officer, succeeding Gregor Pottmeyer, whose term ends in September 2025. Schulte is currently CFO of thyssenkrupp AG and has previously held the same role at Schott AG.

Gabriel Castelo and Lisa McGeough

HSBC has announced several senior management changes as part of CEO Georges Elhedery’s ongoing overhaul aimed at cutting costs and improving decision-making.

Annabel Spring, head of global private banking and wealth, will depart and be replaced by Gabriel Castello as interim CEO for global private banking, effective 1 January 2025. Former investment banker Matthew Ginsburg will also leave the bank.

The reorganisation plan, announced in October, involves merging operations, restructuring HSBC’s geographic focus into East and West, and reducing duplicate roles. This has led to multiple senior departures in recent weeks.

Lisa McGeough, currently co-head of global banking coverage, has been appointed CEO for the United States, making her the first woman to hold this position in over a decade. McGeough will oversee the expansion of HSBC’s wholesale business in the U.S.
