
This week’s overview of people transfers and appointments in and around Luxembourg includes updates from the Luxembourg Capital Markets Association, law firm Linklaters, the International Securities Services Association (ISSA), and CBRE.
Frank Mausen takes the helm at LuxCMA
The Luxembourg Capital Markets Association (LuxCMA) has elected a new board for a two-year term, with Frank Mausen, representing A&O Shearman, stepping in as chair. He succeeds Julie Becker, CEO of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, who has led the association since its founding in 2019.
Joining Mausen on the executive board are Cathrine Foldberg Møller (Simmons & Simmons Luxembourg) as vice-chair, Holger von Keutz (PwC Luxembourg) as treasurer, and Isa Ribeiro (Clearstream) as secretary general.
New board members include representatives from Altum Group, Deloitte, EY, GSK Stockmann, Linklaters, LuxCSD, the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, Spuerkeess, and TMF Group. The association said the election “marks the beginning of a new chapter” in its mission to champion Luxembourg’s capital markets ecosystem.
Udo Prinz joins Linklaters Luxembourg
Udo Prinz has joined Linklaters’ Luxembourg Capital Markets & Banking practice as a Consultant, bringing over 20 years of experience in financial and insurance regulation. A member of the Luxembourg Bar, he has advised banks, investment firms, insurers and corporates on complex cross-border deals and regulatory matters.
His arrival strengthens the firm’s financial regulation bench, led by partners Eliane Dejardin Botelho and Raoul Heinen. Prinz said he was “excited to join Linklaters and contribute to an internationally recognised, leading financial regulation team.”
Margaret Harwood-Jones appointed chair of ISSA Board
Margaret Harwood-Jones has been named chair of the Board of the International Securities Services Association (ISSA), succeeding UBS managing director Vicky Kyproglou, who served in the role for the past two years.
Harwood-Jones is global head of financing and securities services at Standard Chartered, where she leads the bank’s securities services and prime product businesses. She brings more than 30 years of experience to the ISSA Board, having held senior positions at BNP Paribas and HSBC. She is also a chartered member of the Securities and Investment Institute and an associate of the Institute of Bankers.
CBRE names Tasos Vezyridis head of research
CBRE has appointed Tasos Vezyridis to the newly created role of head of research for UK & Ireland and Continental Europe, effective immediately.
Vezyridis, who joined CBRE in 2018 from Landsec, previously served as head of thought leadership for Europe. In his new position, he will oversee all research and thought leadership activities across the regions. The appointment follows Henry Chin’s transition to global head of research and Jos Tromp’s move to lead business development for continental Europe.
