
This week’s overview of transfers and appointments in and around Luxembourg includes updates from Edmond de Rothschild, Bank Nagelmackers, HF Quarters, and Allianz Global Investors.
Brione appointed CEO of Bank Nagelmackers
Caisse d’Epargne Hauts de France, the new French owner of Belgium’s oldest bank, Bank Nagelmackers, has appointed Peggy Brione as its new CEO. Brione, a senior executive within the French mutual banking group, takes the helm as Nagelmackers enters a new phase after a turbulent decade under Chinese ownership by Anbang and later Dajia Insurance.
Caisse d’Epargne completed its full acquisition of Nagelmackers last month, following an agreement announced in July 2024. During the transition, former CEO David Yuan remained in charge.
Brione’s appointment aims to bring stability to the bank’s 400 employees and signals the start of a long-anticipated relaunch. “We will strengthen our value proposition for clients while preserving what makes our human-centered bank unique: client proximity, relational excellence, and short decision lines,” she said.
Group CEO Laurent Roubin, now chairman of Nagelmackers’ board, called the move “a key step in accelerating the bank’s ambitious development plan.”
Eshana Lutawan joins HF Quarters
HF Quarters S.C.S., a Luxembourg-based fund management firm, has appointed Eshana Lutawan as its new marketing manager. The appointment is part of the company’s efforts to expands its services across Europe.
Lutawan has been recognized as one of the top 30 most influential fintech marketeers and has prior experience in strategic communications and financial marketing. Her background includes work on brand development, digital communications, and industry outreach within the financial sector.
HF Quarters specializes in fund structuring and management services.
De Tessières to lead sustainability at E. de Rothschild
Private bank Edmond de Rothschild has appointed Eric de Tessières as group chief sustainability officer, effective April 7. Reporting to deputy CEO Cynthia Tobiano, he will oversee the group’s sustainability strategy across asset management and private banking, supported by specialists in Paris and Geneva and a network of asset class ambassadors.
With nearly 20 years of experience in banking and sustainable investing, de Tessières was previously COO of the Sustainability Center and head of solidarity investments at BNP Paribas Asset Management. He is a graduate of HEC and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
Edmond de Rothschild currently classifies 50 percent of its assets as Article 8 or 9 under SFDR. In a statement, Tobiano emphasized the group’s enduring commitment: “Eric will be able to navigate an increasingly restrictive regulatory environment and headwinds from the financial industry. Commitment to sustainability is at the heart of our shareholder family’s investment philosophy. It cannot fail.”
Krautzberger to lead public markets at AllianzGI
Allianz Global Investors has named Michael Krautzberger as CIO public markets, effective June 1, 2025. Currently global CIO fixed income, Krautzberger will oversee AllianzGI’s 475 billion euro public markets platform and join the executive committee. His appointment follows the planned retirement of global head of investments Deborah Zurkow later this year.
Leadership changes will accompany the transition. Jenny Zeng, CIO fixed income Asia Pacific, becomes deputy head of fixed income immediately and will take over as CIO fixed income on January 1, 2026. In equities, Michael Heldmann will succeed Virginie Maisonneuve as CIO equity on October 1, 2025. Heldmann is now also deputy CIO equity alongside his role as CIO systematic equity.
In a statement, CEO Tobias C. Pross praised the firm’s depth of talent, noting the strong track records of Krautzberger, Zeng, and Heldmann. He also thanked Maisonneuve for her leadership, innovation, and contributions to AllianzGI’s equity platform.
