This week’s overview of people transfers and appointments includes updates from Trustmoore, Quintet and Fundcraft.

Fernandes Da Cunha leaves Efa for Trustmoore

Trustmoore has named Paulo Fernandes Da Cunha as country head for Luxembourg, subject to final regulatory approval. Joining from asset services firm Efa, where he served as chief operating officer, he will be responsible for driving the next phase of the Trustmoore’s growth in one of its core strategic markets. 

In his new role, Fernandes Da Cunha will focus on expanding the firm’s fund services offering, while also developing its capital markets and corporate services activities, the firm said. He will also oversee the integration of Funds Avenue, which Trustmoore acquired in September 2023, and explore potential partnership and acquisition opportunities to support the group’s growth strategy.

Fernandes Da Cunha joins with extensive experience in the Luxembourg fund industry and spent 20 years at Efa before joining Trustmoore. The firm said his appointment underscores its aim to scale its local presence and strengthen its position across fund administration, AIFM/ManCo and SPV services. He is based in Luxembourg, where he lives with his wife and son.

Dumont joins Fundcraft from Lemanik

Alexandre DumontFundcraft has appointed Alexandre Dumont as country head Luxembourg and member of the executive committee. Based in Luxembourg, Dumont will be responsible for overseeing licensed activities, driving commercial growth, and expanding partnerships across the local fund ecosystem. He joins from Lemanik Asset Management with over 20 years of experience in asset management, banking, and fund governance, and has a track record of scaling AIFM platforms to multi-billion-euro assets under management.

His arrival coincides with two further appointments to the Luxembourg leadership team. Florian Sebe becomes conducting officer overseeing portfolio management, marketing, and UCI administration. Marcela Sanchez joins as head of business analysis and product enablement. Sebe has reviewed more than 500 transactions across private equity, venture capital, real estate, debt and infrastructure. Sanchez brings two decades of fund operations experience to her role.

The three appointments follow fundcraft’s acquisition of Funds Avenue and mark a new phase in the firm’s Luxembourg strategy, focused on integrating its digital infrastructure with regulatory and operational delivery. CEO Julien De Mayer said the hires reflect the company’s long-term commitment to Luxembourg and support its growth with institutional clients across asset classes.

Quintet names group head business development

Quintet Private Bank has appointed René Kirkels as group head of business development, Financial Intermediaries (FIM), effective 1 October. Based in Amsterdam, Kirkels will join the Asset Servicing & FIM leadership team and take charge of expanding Quintet’s FIM distribution strategy across Europe. He reports to Thomas Klein, group head of Asset Servicing & FIM.

Kirkels joins from Saxo Bank, where he served as head of wholesale Europe, overseeing FIM sales in the Netherlands, Belgium and France. He brings over 30 years of industry experience, including senior roles at Rabobank and Staalbankiers. His appointment comes as Quintet, which has more than 30 billion euro in assets under custody, continues to strengthen its offering for external asset managers, family offices and other intermediaries, the private bank said.
