Malick Badjie has joined Pictet Asset Management as global co-head of sales and member of the executive committee, effective May 1. He will share the role with Niall Quinn and report to Raymond Sagayam, managing partner and co-chief executive officer of Pictet Asset Management.
Badjie joins from Robeco, where he spent nine years, most recently as global head of sales and marketing and as member of the executive committee. He has more than 23 years of experience in senior client-facing roles across London, the United States and the Middle East.
He succeeds Luca Di Patrizi, who will step down in September after 27 years at Pictet AM. Di Patrizi will remain with the firm as strategic adviser, focusing on projects linked to business growth and transformation ahead of his retirement.
Universal Investment
Nils Mordt has joined Universal Investment Group as head of international sales and relationship management. Based in London, he will lead the firm’s international sales and client relationship activities across key markets.
Mordt joins from Caceis, where he served as managing director and head of regional coverage for the UK, United States, Middle East and Asia. Earlier, he spent more than six years at RBC Investor Services, most recently as head of UK client coverage, and previously held senior roles at CME Group.
Deutsche Bank
Rikke Strömqvist has joined Deutsche Bank Private Bank in Luxembourg as director and senior relationship manager. She will focus on Danish clients in Denmark and abroad as the bank expands its Nordic private banking activities.
Strömqvist previously worked at UBS Wealth Management and brings more than 20 years of experience in international wealth management. She reports to Steen Krage and will be based in Luxembourg.
Aberdeen
Kate McGrath has been promoted to head of ESG for fixed income at Aberdeen Investments. She succeeds Marianne Zangerl, who was recently appointed global head of multi asset and alternative investment solutions.
McGrath will oversee ESG and sustainability-focused fixed income strategies and mandates, including climate transition and UN Sustainable Development Goals-related portfolios. She will also lead the development of ESG processes and engagement frameworks across the fixed income platform.
Block Asset Management
Paul Brown has joined Block Asset Management as partner and global head of distribution.
Brown has worked in financial services for 40 years, including more than 35 years in international wealth management. He founded his own independent financial advisory business in 1996, expanding it across Europe before merging it with Blacktower Group in 2013.
LuxTrust
Jacques Thill has been appointed chairman of the board of directors of LuxTrust and LuxTrust Development, effective May 4. LuxTrust provides digital identity and secure transaction services in Europe.
