2024 so far has been a year of diverging economies, equity market highs and election fever – with far more to come.
Over the past 40 years, investors have become accustomed to an environment characterised by generally declining interest rates, low inflation and the rapid advance of globalisation. Since the end of the Cold War, we have also enjoyed long periods of relative geopolitical stability.
All that is changing and, as investors, we must face up to a new reality of investing and consider fresh scenarios. What does this mean for the market outlook?
