This week’s overview of transfers, appointments, promotions and other career news in the fund and asset management community in and around Luxembourg includes updates from Alfi, Marsh McLennan, EY Luxembourg and Amundi.

Corinne Lamesch

Corinne Lamesch (photo) has been appointed as deputy CEO and general counsel of the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (Alfi), effective 16 September 2024. Lamesch has over 25 years of experience in the Luxembourg fund industry, beginning her career in 1998 as a lawyer with A&O Shearman and Clifford Chance. Prior to joining ALFI, she spent 16 years at Fidelity International, where she was conducting officer of its Luxembourg-based management company from 2015 and served as Luxembourg country head from 2017.

Lamesch has been involved with ALFI for many years, contributing to various technical committees and working groups. She has been a board member since 2017 and served as chairperson of the ALFI board from 2019 to 2023. She was also involved in the launch of the Luxembourg Women in Finance Charter in 2023, focused on improving gender diversity within the financial sector.

Lamesch holds two Master’s degrees in law from the University of Strasbourg and New York University School of Law, and is admitted to both the Luxembourg and New York Bars.

Kristof De Bremme

Kristof De Bremme has been appointed CEO of Marsh McLennan, Belgium and Luxembourg, and president of Marsh, Belgium and Luxembourg. He succeeds Rebecca Tielemans and will relocate from London to Brussels, reporting to Christos Adamantiadis, CEO of Marsh McLennan, Europe.

In his new role, De Bremme will oversee operations across Marsh McLennan’s offices in Brussels, Luxembourg, Antwerp, and Ghent, ensuring clients have access to the firm’s full range of services.

As president of Marsh in Belgium and Luxembourg, De Bremme will be responsible for delivering insurance solutions and risk advisory services, leveraging the company’s global resources to support clients in managing their risks.

Serge Hanssens

Serge Hanssens has been appointed global client service partner for European institutions at EY Luxembourg, effective September 2024. In this role, Hanssens will oversee EY›s relationships with key public sector accounts across Europe.

Hanssens brings nearly 30 years of experience in public sector management and EU policy development. Prior to joining EY, he collaborated with various EU bodies, including the European Commission, European Parliament, and European Investment Bank, as well as national governments in several countries. His expertise spans areas such as migration, border management, digital identity, and taxation.

Hanssens has also worked with international organisations such as Nato and private sector firms, including Lufthansa Group and Eurotunnel, focusing on the use of technology to drive digitalisation across sectors.

Philippe d’Orgeval

Philippe d’Orgeval has been appointed deputy group chief investment officer. D’Orgeval began his career in 1995 at Rothschild Gestion as a portfolio manager and buy-side analyst before moving to Pargesa in 1999 in a similar role. In 2001, he joined AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM), where he held key positions, including head of fund research, CIO of AXA Multimanager Ltd in London, and chief risk officer. He later became head of AXA IM UK in 2016.

In December 2020, d’Orgeval joined Amundi as CEO of its UK operations. He holds postgraduate degrees in finance and economics from ESSEC and the University of Orléans, a master’s in finance from the University of Paris IX Dauphine, and is a CFA charterholder.
