Nicole Thome
The CAIA Luxembourg chapter has appointed Nicole Thome (photo) as chapter head and Raphael le Saux as chapter executive. The organisation has also named five other appointees: Tommaso Cervellati, Lapo Sogli, Pawel Blicharz, Marios Christodoulou, and Christian Ralison.
Michal Stepien
DLA Piper has appointed Michal Stepien to head its new Luxembourg transfer pricing practice. A seasoned tax practitioner, he joins from Deloitte Luxembourg, after nearly two decades in the business, with substantial international experience.
Antoine Laniez
CMS has appointed Antoine Laniez as its dispute resolution partner. With nearly 20 years of experience, he joins from another major law firm, where he headed its litigation and arbitration practice. He’ll be bringing his team with him, including experience senior associate Florence Remouchamps.
Märt Loite and Helmut Berger
The European Stability Mechanism’s board of governors has appointed Märt Loite and Helmut Berger to the ESM Board of Auditors, during its 12th annual meeting in Luxembourg. Both will serve a non-renewable three-year term.
PwC Luxembourg
PwC Luxembourg has appointed six managing directors and 12 new partners. The new managing directors are: David Buisson, Chief Data Officer, Grégory Rambaldelli, Chief Transformation Officer, Benedikt Jonas (Advisory) at Strategy&, part of the PwC Network, Davide Visin (Tax), Kerstin Boernecke (Tax), Sebastian Knoll (Tax). The new partners are: for Assurance: David Borcy, Ezequiel Brasca, Alessandro Ingardi, Urs Kessler, Christian Krons, Karima Najm; for Tax: Caroline Choquet, Philippe Ghekiere, Polina Koshlak, Anthony Macri and Camille Perez; for Advisory: Sébastien Schmitt.
EY Luxembourg
EY Luxembourg has appointed four equity partners, 13 partners and four directors. The appointed equity partners are: Marcello Belfiore (assurance, audit), Frédéric Gilmin (assurance, forensics), Léna Le Gal (tax, global compliance and reporting), and Emilian Luzzi (consulting, business consulting). The new partners are: Pierre-Yves Amé (assurance, audit), Kerry-ann Au Yeong (assurance, audit), Luis Chamorro Cadarso (assurance, audit), Saba Chandrasekhran (assurance, audit), Eric Dörr (assurance, audit), Benjamin Drai (tax, indirect tax), Kyle Frasca (assurance, audit), Jonas Lesueur (consulting, business consulting), Rebecca Obermahr (tax, indirect tax), Amedeo Pedini (assurance, audit), Nader Riachy (assurance, audit), Anna Shevchuk (assurance, technology risk) and Lars Stein (assurance, audit). The firm also named four directors: Khaled Al Mahayni (digital factory), Mike Hakkens (markets), Caroline Imbaut (markets) and Ana Perez (risk management).
The firm has also recently appointed Raphael Betti as a new partner in charge of climate change. He joins the firm after more than 13 years at the European Investment Fund. He will assist clients in their implementation of mandatory sustainability reporting directive and standards.

Esma has appointed new members of its Securities and Markets Stakeholder Group. The members are, as academics, Barbara Alemanni of Italy, Gabriela Ariadna Dumitrescu of Romania, Morten Kinander of Norway and Giovanni Petrella, also of Italy. As consumer representatives, Monica Calu of Romania, Kęstutis Kupšys of Lithuania, Aleksandra Maczynska of Poland, Guillaume Prache of France, Agustin Reyna of Belgium and Christian Martin Stiefmueller.
Financial service users are represented by Christiane Hölz of Germany and Sari Lounasmeri of Finland. Fundcraft, a fintech firm established in Luxembourg, has appointed Keith Hale to its board of directors as a senior advisor and board member. He brings over three decades of experience in the financial and technology sectors.
