This week’s overview of transfers and appointments in the fund and asset management community in and outside Luxembourg includes updates from Carmignac, CMS Luxembourg, and Mainstreet Partners.

Harriet Noble

Harriet Noble has joined Carmignac as a business development manager, targeting wholesale clients across the UK and Ireland. Noble transitions from Jupiter Asset Management, where she has worked since August 2021, most recently in a business development role. Her previous experience includes a sales position at portfolio adviser.

Noble will report to Gavin Ward, head of UK business development, and her appointment follows the addition of Christian Elliott in July 2024. The UK business development team at Carmignac focuses on expanding the firm’s market presence.

Founded in 1989, Carmignac is an independent asset management firm in Europe, owned by its founder, family, and employees.

Vivian Walry

Vivian Walry has been appointed as the new managing partner of CMS Luxembourg, succeeding Frédéric Feyten, who remains a partner in charge of the tax law department. Feyten has led the firm since 2020.

The announcement also includes the addition of Aurélien Hollard, partner in charge of the investment funds practice, to the management committee. Hollard will join Walry and Renaud Dupont, managing partner of CMS Belgium and member of the CMS global executive committee.

Walry, who heads the banking finance department at CMS Luxembourg and specialises in banking and finance law, was elected by the firm’s partners. He was already on the management committee and was instrumental in establishing the firm before it became part of CMS in 2011.

Founded in 2011 with two partners and around ten lawyers, CMS Luxembourg now has over 100 staff.

Sophie Meatyard

MainStreet Partners has appointed Sophie Meatyard as funds research director. Meatyard joins from Abrdn, where she led ESG processes for the Multi-Asset Fund Selection team, managing proprietary ESG ratings, regulatory updates, and manager engagement on sustainability themes.

Previously, Meatyard worked at Hymans Robertson, focusing on manager research within global and UK equities with an emphasis on ESG integration. She holds CFA ESG and CFA Climate and Investing certifications.

Neill Blanks, managing director of research at MainStreet Partners, expressed confidence that Meatyard’s expertise will strengthen MainStreet’s ESG and sustainability fund ratings and analytics.

Serge Eiffes

Serge Eiffes has been appointed to the executive board of the Artelis Group, effective 1 November, joining Didier Wasilewski and Marc Kahabka. The Artelis Group consolidates the operations of two telecommunications companies: Cegecom in Luxembourg and VSE NET in Germany.

This leadership trio will oversee the daily management of both entities. Eiffes› expertise in developing and marketing telecom products is expected to strengthen Artelis Group’s position as a leading alternative telecom and internet operator in Luxembourg. In March 2024, Wasilewski was appointed to the group’s executive board.
