Deborah Zurkow, global head of investments at Allianz Global Investors, has announced that she will retire during the course of 2025.
The arrangement for her succession envisages that her portfolio will be split into two parts: public markets and private markets. This to reflect the increasing importance of the private markets business, AllianzGI said.
Zurkow joined AllianzGI in 2021 and pioneered the firm’s infrastructure debt investments. Since 2016 she served as head of private markets and took on responsibility for the entire investment portfolio in 2020.
“From her first day at AllianzGI until today, Deborah has been an extremely dedicated colleague and leader,” said CEO Tobias Pross in a statement.
”Her relentless curiosity and solution-oriented mindset benefited our clients and colleagues around the world alike. I will miss her tireless efforts. The fact that her succession involves two appointments underscores the importance and unique nature of the private markets business that she has built alongside our already well-established public markets platform.”
