Amundi, Europe’s biggest asset manager, on Wednesday said that it has created the Amundi Institute as a new division that will help investors better determine their asset allocation and help them construct their portfolios in an increasingly complex and changing world.
Amundi’s Global Head of Research Monica Defend (pictured) will serve as head of Amundi Institute. Pascal Blanqué has been appointed President of the institute and will oversee the new business line.
“Inflation, environmental issues, geopolitical tensions… there are many structural regime changes underway. Investors across the board expect a deeper dialogue and sophisticated advice to build more robust portfolios,” said Blanqué in a statement.
Investors seek a better understanding
Amundi Institute will seek to strengthen the advice, training and daily dialogue on these subjects for all its clients - distributors, institutions and companies - regardless of the assets that Amundi manages on their behalf, the company said. The new division will bring together research, market strategy and asset allocation advice activities.
“In an increasingly complex and changing world, investors have expressed the need to better understand their environment and the evolution of investment practises in order to determine their asset allocation and help construct their portfolios,” said Amundi. “This environment includes economic, financial, geopolitical, social and environmental aspects.”
Mortier to success Blanqué as Group CIO
Amundi also said Vincent Mortier will succeed Blanqué as Amundi’s Group Chief Investment Officer. Matteo Germano, Head of Multi-Asset Investment, will become Deputy Chief Investment Officer.
Amundi is one of the ten largest asset managers in the world with more than 100 million clients and some 2.000 billion euro in assets under management.
