KPMG plans new HQ on current BGL-BNP Paribas site
KPMG Luxembourg announced Wednesday an agreement with developer BPI Real Estate to develop a new headquarters building in Kirchberg for its audit, tax and advisory services activities.
The deal includes developing a new 31,000-square-meter headquarters on the 3.23-hectare site of the Kronos Building. It will incorporate a food court and a co-working space. BPI Real Estate will develop an additional 24,658 square meters for mixed-use purposes.
Depositary, custodian services ‘heavily concentrated’
Markets for depositary and custodian banking services in Luxembourg are “heavily concentrated”, with the top ten banks holding more than three quarters of all assets, the first ever survey on depositary and custodian services in the grand duchy shows.
Lux PM Bettel: ‘Taxes are poison’
‘Taxes are poison for companies hit by the crisis,’ Xavier Bettel told a Luxembourg for Finance online panel on Thursday. He added that when seeking to restore balance to state finances ‘we want to avoid any tax rise.’ Instead ‘maybe we’ll have to cut or delay some projects.’
That said he had no regrets about the government’s aggressive support measures for the Luxembourg economy. ‘This money has been some of best investment we could do,’ he said.
