LuxSE exploring ways to create public listing for Eltif funds
The Luxembourg Stock Exchange is exploring ways to create public listings of European Long-Term Investment Funds, private market vehicles that for now are the exclusive domain of high-net worth individuals. A senior official said the bourse, also known as LuxSE, sees a particular role for itself when it comes to enhancing the exit opportunities.
LuxSE books €170 mln gain on Fundsquare sale
The Luxembourg Stock Exchange, also known as LuxSE, has booked a one-time gain of 170 million euro on the sale of its data subsidiary Fundsquare, it said following its annual general meeting on Friday.
The sale of Fundsquare to FE fundinfo, a London-based provider of investment fund data and technology, was completed last September. LuxSE acquired an unspecified ownership stake in FE fundinfo following that transaction.
Luxembourg stock exchange expands cooperation with Macao
The Luxembourg stock exchange has announced a new move to expand its cooperation with Macao, one of China’s Special Administrative Regions. The bourse said it will offer trading in securities listed on the Chongwa (Macao) Financial Asset Exchange Co. Ltd., commonly known as MOX, on its self-regulated Euro MTF market.
Luxembourg bourse open for trading in Chinese A-shares
The Luxembourg Stock Exchange has admitted China International Capital Corporation as a new trading and listing member with immediate effect. CICC will enable the indirect trading of shares listed on Shanghai the Shenzen stock exchanges via the Luxembourg bourse.
LuxSE launches new post-trade settlement model
The Luxembourg Stock Exchange on Tuesday launched a new, simplified post-trade settlement model that no longer requires a clearing membership. The exchange has partnered with Italy’s BFF Bank to provide the new service.
The new model simplifies the post-trade process of Luxembourg’s bourse, also known as LuxSE. The change “allows for a more streamlined and efficient settlement of securities transactions made on a channel encompassing 21,500 tradable instruments”, it said.
KfW breaks €50 bln threshold in LGX-listed green bonds
German state-owned bank KfW has become the first to have issued a total of more than 50 billion euro in green bonds on the Luxembourg Green Exchange, known as LGX, the Luxembourg Stock Exchange said. This achievement was marked by a LuxSE bell ceremony on Monday.
KfW issued its first green bond 8 years ago and has since issued about 100 green bonds, raising some 50 billion euro for green projects. Its significant green funding programme makes KfW one of the 10 largest sustainable bond issuers in the world.
‘Lack of taxonomy harmonisation leads to fragmentation’
The sustainable fund market in Luxembourg and other European fund domiciles has continued its strong growth of recent years, but the short-term impact of the Ukraine war has already disrupted the move to a green future. Still, positive developments are expected in the longer term. The latest updates were set out in the 2022 edition of the European Sustainable Investment Funds Study by Zeb and Morningstar on behalf of the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry.
Alain Kinsch appointed as new Chairman of LuxSE
Shareholders of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange on Wednesday appointed Alain Kinch as chairman of is board of directors. Kinsch succeed Frank Wagener, who served as LuxSE’s chair since 2011 and who is retiring.
Kinsch serves on the board of several national and international companies as an independent director and is vice-president of the Luxembourg State Council. He is known for his earlier work at EY, where he was the country managing partner of EY Luxembourg from 2009 to 2020.

LuxSE, UN Women join forces to advance gender finance
The Luxembourg Stock Exchange on Friday said it has stepped up its efforts to advance gender equality in finance by cooperating with UN Women, the United Nations entity for gender equality and the empowerment of women.
The cooperation was announced during a signing ceremony at the exchange in the presence of HRH Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, Luxembourg minister of finance Yuriko Backes and Luxembourg minister of the economy and development, Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs Franz Fayot.
