United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

A relatively new asset owner-led platform providing information needed to decide on sustainable development investments is gaining global traction now that the world’s biggest asset management firm Blackrock has decided to join as a subscriber.

2021 was the third year in a row where sustainable investors outperformed non-sustainable investors. For a long time, there has been a debate as to whether sustainable investment comes at the expense of returns or actually generates additional returns. Many studies and meta-studies later, the cautious conclusion is that it probably does not cost a return and may even be good for the return.

The Luxembourg Fund Labelling Agency (commonly-known as LuxFLAG) has announced the launch of its Sustainable Insurance Product Label certification product.

This certification will be awarded to “eligible insurance products that assist with the transition to mitigate and adapt to the climate crisis, as well other environmental and social issues” that are part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
