Luxembourg’s financial supervisor CSSF has stopped using X, formerly known as Twitter, as one of its communications channels on social media, referring to the increasing circulation of false information on the platform.

«CSSF decided to withdraw from X as it seems that X is unable, or unwilling, to counter the increasing circulation of false information on their platform and to comply with the strict obligations imposed by the Digital Services Act to combat disinformation,»  a CSSF spokesperson said in response to a question.

«As a result, the CSSF does not wish to support X and decided to stop all forms of communication on this platform. We will continue communicating via our website and LinkedIn. We also remain present on Instagram and Facebook with our financial education tool ‘lëtzfin’.”

CSSF, like other national financial supervisors in the EU, had been active under the handle @CSSFlux. That account is no longer available as of today.
