DWS, the asset management arm of Deutsche Bank, on Monday said that Olivier Dubost de Cadalvène, currently head of DWS in France, Middle East & Africa, has taken up the additional responsibility for Luxembourg. The appointment coincides with the appointment of Arjen Jonk as country head in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Currently head of Xtrackers Sales Benelux, Jonk’s appointment is part of a succession plan which sees him replace Pieter Furnée, with whom he has worked closely to ensure a smooth handover, said DWS. DWS’ Xtrackers is one of the largest providers of exchange-traded funds in Europe.
DWS, with assets under management of some 821 billion euro, in recent years has experienced substantial growth in both the wholesale and institutional client segments in Belgium and the Netherlands. The firm offers active, Xtrackers and alternatives solutions and reported increased allocations to private markets strategies, as well as growing demand for customised index solutions.
Capturing growth
“We are very appreciative of the hard work and great commitment that Pieter has delivered to DWS throughout the past 18 years and wish him well in all his future endeavours,” said Alexia Giugni, DWS’ head of client coverage EMEA ex Germany and Austria, in a statement. “Arjen is best suited to lead a well-established franchise with a significant opportunity to capture growth across both institutional and wholesale client segments on our full product capabilities.”
Arjen Jonk joined DWS in May 2012 as a sales manager for the Benelux region. Since April 2017 he was also responsible for the Xtrackers Sales Benelux region. Before DWS he worked at Van Lanschot Kempen.
Pieter Furnée started in 2004 as sales manager at DWS. Since then, he has held various management positions, including coverage responsibility for the UK and the Nordics. For the past 10 years he has been head of benelux, which he combined for several years with the position of global head of responsible investing coverage.
