This week’s overview of transfers and appointments in the fund and asset management community in and outside Luxembourg includes updates from Quintet Luxembourg, Candriam and Zedra Group.
Florence Pisani
Florence Pisani has been appointed chief economist at Candriam, succeeding Anton Brender, who will retire at the end of 2024 after holding the position since 2002. Pisani, who joined Candriam in 2002 and has led economic research since 2016, will assume her new role in January 2025. Emile Gagna, an economist with Candriam since 2004, has been named deputy head of economic research.
Pisani, who holds a PhD in economics from Paris-Dauphine University, has overseen Candriam’s key economic analyses and macroeconomic forecasts in close collaboration with Brender. Gagna, co-author of several books with Brender and Pisani, is a graduate of Ensae and Paris-Dauphine, where he also lectures.
Brender has played a pivotal role in Candriam’s development. He has led Candriam’s teams through various economic cycles and educated a new generation of economists. Brender was recently awarded the Grammatikakis-Neumann prize by the Académie des sciences morales et politiques for his essay on democracies and capitalism.
Stéphane Pardini
Quintet Private Bank has appointed Stéphane Pardini as head of wealth management in Luxembourg. Pardini, who brings 25 years of experience in advising high net worth individuals and leading teams, will report to Chris Allen, CEO of Quintet Group.
Pardini previously served as managing director at J. Safra Sarasin in Luxembourg and France, where he played a key role in establishing the company’s presence. He also spent nearly 20 years at Edmond de Rothschild, eventually serving as deputy CEO of Edmond de Rothschild (Europe) in Luxembourg. Pardini began his career at EY and later worked at UBS. He holds a degree in accounting and financial management from Grenoble École de Management and a master’s from HEC Entrepreneurs.
In addition, Quintet appointed Thomas Klein as group head of asset servicing and financial intermediaries, with responsibilities across Europe and the UK. Klein will also report to Allen.
Peter Brown
Peter Brown has been appointed managing director of Zedra’s Luxembourg office. With over 30 years of experience in financial services, Brown will lead Zedra’s Luxembourg operations, focusing on opportunities in fund, corporate, and private client services. Working with Wim Ritz, Zedra’s global head of funds, he will enhance service delivery for alternative fund managers and drive growth within Luxembourg’s financial sector.
Previously, Brown spent four years with Aztex Group, a fund and corporate services provider focused on institutionally-backed alternative fund managers in Luxembourg. His career includes senior roles in UK and European banking, where he managed teams in structured lending, cash management, and capital markets. Brown is also involved in the local business community as a council member for the British Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg.
Brown’s appointment follows Zedra’s recent partnership with CreaPartners, which aims to expand the combined offerings for fund and corporate clients. His experience in corporate finance, fund administration, and client relationship management will support Zedra’s plans to broaden its services in Luxembourg’s financial market.
