French banking group Crédit Agricole has announced the launch of a new corporate finance boutique in its home market. Crédit Agricole Midcap Advisors and Degroof Petercam Finance France are being merged into Indosuez Corporate Advisory, a team of around 80 professionals.

The move further phases out the Degroof Petercam brand outside Belgium. Cyril Kammoun, who has led Degroof Petercam Finance in France for the past 12 years, has been appointed chief executive officer of the new advisory firm. Last year, the Degroof Petercam Asset Services name already disappeared in Luxembourg.

The strategic rationale is familiar. Indosuez, the Crédit Agricole subsidiary that acquired the formerly independent Belgian bank in June 2024, intends to position Degroof Petercam firmly as its Belgian entity. Former French and Luxembourg activities are being gradually integrated elsewhere within the Crédit Agricole ecosystem, with the aim of generating synergies and achieving greater scale.

In July 2025, Degroof Petercam’s Luxembourg operations were fully integrated into Indosuez Wealth Management, marking the end of the bank’s independent presence in the grand duchy. The transition followed years of heightened regulatory scrutiny, including a 1.56 million euro fine imposed by the CSSF for anti-money laundering deficiencies.

Cross-fertilisation model

In the French market, Indosuez Corporate Advisory will target small and medium-sized companies as well as larger corporates, family-owned holding structures and private equity funds. Advisory services will cover mergers and acquisitions, company valuation, financing and capital markets transactions.

According to Jacques Prost, chief executive officer of Indosuez, the new entity can draw on the expertise of two major Crédit Agricole group businesses: Crédit Agricole CIB, which serves corporate clients, and Indosuez Wealth Management, which supports entrepreneurs who are also shareholders.

Corporate transactions are often also liquidity events for business owners or the families behind them. Indosuez Corporate Advisory highlights experience across sectors including agribusiness, wines and spirits, industrials, defense, healthcare, technology, the energy transition and real estate.

The close interaction between corporate advisory and wealth management is reflected in the ownership structure of the new firm, which will be held equally by Crédit Agricole CIB and Indosuez Wealth Management.

Indosuez Corporate Advisory will also assume Degroof Petercam’s French membership of IMAP, the International Merger and Acquisition Partners network, a global alliance of corporate finance advisory firms.
