This week’s overview of people moves in the investment industry includes new leadership appointments at Debevoise & Plimpton, Arendt, LPEA, and Eversheds Sutherland.
Debevoise adds funds partner in Luxembourg
Debevoise & Plimpton has appointed Veronica Aroutiunian as partner in its Investment Management Group, based in Luxembourg. Aroutiunian, who joins from Loyens & Loeff, brings extensive experience advising on regulatory and corporate aspects of fund structuring and operations, with a particular focus on retail and evergreen funds. Her appointment supports the firm’s strategy to expand its Luxembourg presence and enhance its offering for European private capital clients.
Arendt names new governance lead and general secretary
Emilie Ramponi has been appointed director of governance lead and general secretary at Arendt Investor Services, effective 1 November. In this dual role, she will oversee the firm’s general secretariat and corporate affairs function while continuing to contribute to the governance services practice. Ramponi previously served as director of governance services and will work closely with Arendt’s board and management committee to support governance development.
LPEA appoints co-chairs for depositary services
The Luxembourg Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (LPEA) has appointed three new co-chairs to lead its depositary services technical committee. Michael Mekhaeel (RBS International), Gilles Moreau (Alter Domus), and Maxime Perrin (J.P. Morgan SE, Luxembourg Branch) will oversee the committee’s activities, focusing on collaborative projects and the development of best practices.
Eversheds Sutherland expands with two partners
Eversheds Sutherland has strengthened its Luxembourg practice with the appointment of Sara Gerling and Codrina Constantinescu as partners. Gerling, previously with NautaDutilh, focuses on banking, finance, and securitisation, while Constantinescu joins from Goodwin, specialising in private investment funds and regulatory work. Both lawyers previously held senior positions at Arendt & Medernach.
